MSC has ignited a rate war with 2M Alliance partner Maersk by cutting its FAK Asia-North Europe price by some $200 per 40ft.
The carrier said its new rates on the tradelane would be $947 for a 20ft and $1,694 for a 40ft from 15 August.
This compares with Maersk’s announcement on 3 July of an increase in its FAK rates, to $1,025 per 20ft and $1,900 per 40ft, from 31 July.
