Akkon Shipping, a Turkish intra-Mediterranean box carrier, has launched a China-Turkey service, using a ship chartered from Alibaba’s shipping affiliate, Transfar Shipping.
Established in September 2018, as a joint-venture of former Contships executive Salim Isil and Akarlar Shipping, Akkon launched using feeder ships of barely 1,000 teu.
